Product specifications

These are plain facts about the hardware, taken from the manufacturer's specification for model JMK-062. No health claim is attached to any of them.

  • Three heat settings, 38 to 46 degrees C (100 to 115 F). Manufacturer specification.
  • Three modes, each independently selectable: heat with vibration, EMS with vibration, and all three together.
  • EMS can be switched off. Heat and vibration alone is a complete mode.
  • 1200 mAh battery, USB-C, one to two hours to charge.
  • Automatic shut-off after ten minutes. A safety feature, not a limitation.
  • The plate holds its temperature while it is moving, which on the top setting means 115 F held for the whole length of the pass. Confirmed with the manufacturer.

We do not print a number for the EMS output or the number of EMS levels, and we do not name a certification mark, because we have not yet filed those documents. When we hold them, they go here first.

What we say the device does

  • "Designed to help loosen tight, stiff-feeling areas." This describes what the tool is for. It is not a claim to treat anything.
  • "Increased surface blood flow along the pass, seconds after use." This describes a visible, temporary, local flush that you can observe yourself during a session. Individual response varies. It is not a claim about your circulation as a whole.
  • "Warmth within about fifteen seconds, and the area feeling looser under the plate." A description of what a session feels like, checkable by you in the first session.
  • "Two to ten minutes at the end of the day, and the ten minutes are yours." This describes a routine. It is not a claim to relieve stress, and we do not make one.

What we say about dimpling

Dimpling on the backs of the thighs looks softer with repeated use. What holds the skin down there is connective tissue anchoring it to the layer beneath, with fluid pooled in the spaces between the strands. Warmth lets that tissue yield, and a pass toward the body moves the pooled fluid to where it clears, so the surface sits smoother.

Two limits, and both are part of the claim. This is a change in how the skin looks, not a change in fat or in body weight. And it is not permanent: it returns if you stop.

We do not attach a study to this claim. Trials do exist in this category, but they were run on other devices, and citing them for this one would be a false attribution.

What we deliberately do not claim

We do not claim this device affects heart rate or any cardiovascular measure. We do not claim it heals skin or wounds. We do not claim it reduces inflammation. We do not claim it helps cramps. We do not claim it relieves stress, anxiety, or improves your energy. We do not name any medical condition and attach a therapeutic verb to it. We do not claim it removes fat or changes what you weigh.

Some claims are being made by other companies selling this same category of device. Evidence is not the issue. Making a therapeutic claim about a named condition is what turns a wellness device into a regulated medical device, and we are not going to do it.

We do not compare against a price we invented, and we do not compare against anybody else's price list.
